Para Israel:
Hablando con el gachó de TOP FLIGHT HANGAR ( ART GRANDA ):
LE SOLICITO INFORMACIÓN:Hellow friend.
PLEASE: Could you solve a great doubt I have???
THE PROBLEM IS ABOUT THE AUTOLANDING: IMPOSIBLE TO DO IT:
POSSIBLE CAUSE: THE PLANE IS LOSING CONTINUOUSLY THE GLIDESLOPE TRACK IN THE
ILS ( i don´t know why the plane is rolling up and down )AND SO THE MODE AUTOMATIC TOGA MAKES IMPOSIBLE AUTOLANDING.
Another again: More concrete!
Aircraft is losing the glideslope track continuously and so it can´t done an autolanding
1º) Capture de Glideslope ( CAP )
2º) The Pitch Mode goes from CAP to TRK: ok!
3º) PROBLEM: The Aircraft ( I don´t know why ) loses the Glideslope and the Pitch Mode
goes to CAP another again.
4º) The item 2º) is repeated and so an so and another again
5º) Under 1500 feets, so the aircraft loses continuously the Glideslope the Automatic TOGA
mode is activated and the plane take up.
IMPOSIBLE to do an Autolanding.
Any sugerence?
RESPUESTA DE TOP HANGAR:Hi Miguel,
Could you tell me the airport, runway, and weather settings you are using when you are having problems? I'd like to fly the same approach to get an idea of what the problem is. Thanks
Please bear in mind that for Autolanding or tracking a G/S, all are difficult (most likely impossible) during moderate to heavy turbulence. This also applies to the real world MD-80 as well. The autopilot cannot predict quickly shifting air currents, but only reacts to the movement of the F/D needles......sometimes with considerable delay and overshoot.
I was told by a real MD-80 captain that the autoland system is designed primarily for low visibility conditions, with wind limits of 15kts crosswind and 25-30kts headwind with NO turbulence.
If my guess is correct, I think you are being "thrown" from the G/S beam and into an automatic Go Around.
Thanks in advance,
Art Granda
VUELVE A RESPONDER:Hi Miguel,
I sent an email about 30 minutes ago regarding the problem you are having.
Please tell me the airport and runway and weather where you are unable to TRK and Autoland. I would like to try it here at home so I can better understand your problem. I have only had the problem you are describing when:
1) in turbulence.
2) below proper approach speed.
3) well above proper approach speed.
I am leaving home for work and will be away for about 9 hours today. If you could send me the information I will fly the approach when I get home tonight. I will be able to better address this problem after I have seen it happen.
Thanks,
Art
LE CONTESTO:
Hellow another again!
Excuse me for repeat the message. I haven´t seen your answer.
AIRPORT: LEMD ( BARAJAS / SPAIN )
TAKE OFF: RUNWAY 36 L
LAND ON: RUNWAY 18 R / ILS FREQUENCY: 110.70 / COURSE:: 180º
WEATHER: ON LINE WEATHER PERIODICALLY.
FUEL: BY DEFEACT
WEIGHT: BY DEFEACT
I have disconected the weather online and switch off the winds and turbulence.
I have got an autolanding ( FLAPS 15 / IAS: 144 KNOTS ) without weather online but
The aircraft STILL rolls up and down ( Watching the Weight and Balance feature on menu bar, you
can see the gravity center is not at CERO / I think it must be on CERO in order avoid
the balance causing the rolling up and down and so the losing of TRK GLIDESLOPE.)
Of course the aircraft still lost the glideslope one and another again because of the rolling...
Am I missing something?
Maybe Have I configure any weight or fuel or Center of Gravity or Stabilizer or anything???
Is all right the fact the center of gravity not be on CERO??
Thanks in advance.
